SAMBA CLASS RIO is a chance to know part of the Brazilian culture from the inside not only as a witness but actually feeling it in your body. It shows you that Samba is not only what we see and hear during Carnaval, it is really an important expression of Brazilian culture that is present all over the year, in daily life as different samba styles, songs and events.
The main experience SAMBA CLASS RIO wants to provide to you is to show you how to move to the flow of the music in a quick and fun class following different Samba music styles, using an easy and intuitive method. After that you have the option to join us and go to a Samba night event to have fun drinking some "caipirinhas" and practicing your new moves with the locals.
So, don't miss the chance to feel yourself like a Brazilian samba lover having fun like the "cariocas" do.

BRUNO CANTISANO
"I usually say I'm not a typical Brazilian when it relates to Samba. I didn't grow up inside any Samba school or community and actually by the time I figured out how to dance it I was already an adult. But once it happened everything changed.
As a teacher I always enjoyed to find out an easy way for people to understand what they wanted to learn and it wasn't different with dance. Inside the ballroom dance world I usually listened to people saying that Salsa, Zouk, Samba de Gafieira and other dances were difficult to understand and I felt it could be just a matter of seeing things from another perspective. People could undestand better when I explained things in other ways using different analogies. And I really like to introduce people to new things and experiences.
Samba became my favorite dance style. While making part of one of the most prestigious Samba de Gafieira dance companies in Brazil (Cia de Dança Carlos Bolacha) I had the chance to interact with some of the best Samba dance teachers in Rio, what was a great source of information for developing my own teaching method in addition to what I think is the most important element of the experience: to immerse into Rio de Janeiro way of living, tasting our culture the same way a local does, enjoying it with a smile on the face, a "caipirinha" in the hand and Samba in the feet.
Dance is connection. Sometimes you connect to a partner, sometimes you connect to an audience. My goal is to make SAMBA CLASS RIO a way to connect to the Brazilian soul by feeling it flow through your body in the rhythm of our most iconic piece of culture.
So, LET'S SAMBA!".
